A few weeks ago we posted news that Richard Branson was laying claim to finding roots in Branson, Missouri. Apparently Richard is moving full force with that claim and today announced future investment and development plans for our great city. Not only will the Virgin Group's US operations move to Branson, Missouri in the near future, but also a section of their UK operations.
In addition, Richard stated on his website today that he's looking for area opportunities for his of Virgin affiliate companies to get involved in the area. Some of these include Virgin America adding new flight service from the Branson Airport to Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York City. They've even named their newest airplane "Jolene" in honor of Dolly Parton and her famous Dixie Stampede theater in Branson.
Other Virgin affiliate company news claims that Virgin Hotels will build a beautiful hotel in Branson along with Virgin Limited Edition announcing plans for their next luxury resort to be based in Branson as well. In addition, Virgin Produced, Richard Branson's film and production company will film their next feature film in Branson, Missouri along with Virgin Mobile USA being stocked in both Branson, Missouri Walmart store locations. Virgin Active will also introduce a new gym available to locals and Virgin Pure will ensure that the Branson water supply is purified, triple filtered and available to all area residents.
As much as we would love to see Richard's investment go through in Branson, given the timeliness of the announcement and his fondness for April fools pranks, we think this is all just wishful thinking on our end.
