Branson, Missouri Sales Tax Revenue Going Back Up

Branson, Missouri sales tax revenue is up, up, up! Branson tax revenue is now comparable to pre-recession figures and overall the local economy is showing signs of growth and stability. Taney County is also up with an increase of 4 percent from 2013 sales tax figures. Reported sales tax revenue was $7.2 million in 2014, the highest amount in the last 10 years. Branson also reported the highest 1 percent sales tax figures the city has seen in the last 10 years with $10.7 million, a 3 percent increase over 2013.

Branson's 66th Annual Adoration Parade

Thousands are expected to attend Branson, Missouri's 66th Annual Adoration Parade set for 5:30 p.m. today, Sunday, December 7th. Lighting of the adoration scene, the area's largest nativity scene, will take place at 5 p.m., just before the parade begins. Organizers are reporting this year's parade will be larger than last year, with a total of 27 floats, including the local Branson-Hollister Rotary Club float. In addition, there will be 14 marching bands coming from as far away as Kansas.

Jim Stafford Theater Under Contract

The Jim Stafford Theatre is under contract and due to close by the end year. The iconic theater, located on the famous 76 Strip in Branson, Missouri has sat vacant since December 2013. According to Branson building permit records, $30,000 for roof repairs and $124,500 in interior demolition and restoration were carried out at the theater in October.

The building is currently valued at $981,219 with the land valued at $476,300 for a total market value by the county assessor's office at $1,457,519. The 913-seat theater is currently listed for sale for $1,795,000.

Branson Home Prices Continue Upward

With rising inventory and modest expectations of demand growth, the National Association of Realtors expect home prices to increase modestly in the next 12 months according to data gathered from the 2014 Realtors Confidence Index Survey. Local conditions vary with expectations anchored on factors such as level of inventory, state of the local job market and credit conditions. 

The median expected price increase nationwide is about 3 percent. No state had a median expected price growth above 5 percent. States with the most upbeat price expectations include California, Washington, North Dakota, Texas, Florida, Georgia, the District of Columbia, and Massachusetts - states with strong housin...

Ballparks of Branson Coming Soon

In an effort to continue diverse entertainment options, Branson will soon see a new ballpark on the famous 76 Strip. As first reported by the Branson Tri-Lakes News, Ballparks of Branson has officially taken control over the Factory Merchants Mall in Branson, Missouri.  

Ballparks of Branson is currently in the design phases of work for the first phase of a youth baseball complex. Phase one of the project, estimated to cost $15 million, will includes outfitting the existing building on site for retail and the addition of six replica fields of famous baseball parks.
