The Jim Stafford Theatre is under contract and due to close by the end year. The iconic theater, located on the famous 76 Strip in Branson, Missouri has sat vacant since December 2013. According to Branson building permit records, $30,000 for roof repairs and $124,500 in interior demolition and restoration were carried out at the theater in October.

The building is currently valued at $981,219 with the land valued at $476,300 for a total market value by the county assessor's office at $1,457,519. The 913-seat theater is currently listed for sale for $1,795,000.

Earlier in January of this year, ownership was close to a deal to re-open the theater under new management but that deal fell through. In addition, ownership was unable to secure a show for the venue and in May, the Jim Stafford Theatre went into foreclosure. According to county documents, Stafford's theater was put up for sale at the county courthouse steps in Forsyth on May 30 and purchased by Metropolitan National Bank. Meanwhile Jim Stafford has been performing road shows in Florida and California throughout the year.

Thanks for 20+ years of entertainment in Branson Jim. You've been good to us and we wish you continued success in all that you do.
