Change orders arise if building materials are delayed or if the buyer requests upgrades not included in the original contract. All parties must sign the change order which confirms the revised costs and construction timelines.

Depends! Lot excavation and finish selections can throw the averages way off. As of today, brand new construction homes average $180 a square foot, whereas a comparable existing home is $145 a square foot.
