What's A Foreclosure?
A foreclosed property is owned by the lender as a result of the previous owner defaulting on the loan. Like everywhere else across the United States, Southwest Missouri saw an increased amount of foreclosures come on the market after the 2008 recession. However since the turning point of 2015, the local market has since stabilized with few forecloses listed.
If you’re looking to purchase property, you may want to consider a foreclosure as they are generally priced below market value. Foreclosures can offer buyers the ability to move into higher-priced neighborhoods they might otherwise not be able to afford. By purchasing an inexpensive foreclosure, buyers can build wealth as the property steadily increases in value. However there are many factors to consider when buying a foreclosed home compared to a traditional home purchase.
