Country Bluff Estates is looking awesome these days! The home owners association has been very proactive in coordinating a number of great improvements along with the City of Branson. All last week was spent repaving every street on the block. Today was spent repainting all fire hydrants a bright fire engine cherry red. All common areas are freshly mowed and weeded. 

Also in recent weeks, other improvements have included power washing all curb and guttering and both Country Bluff Estates entry signs given fresh paint. Gerken & Associates celebrated 40 years in the real estate business last month. In 1975, my mom and dad started our real estate office on the now famous 76 Strip in Branson. Back then; there wasn't a whole lot going on - mostly lake lots and mobile home sales. Through the 80's, 90's and now into the millennial; Gerken & Associates continues to be a powerhouse in the real estate arena.

A few weeks ago we posted news that Richard Branson was laying claim to finding roots in Branson, Missouri. Apparently Richard is moving full force with that claim and today announced future investment and development plans for our great city. Not only will the Virgin Group's US operations move to Branson, Missouri in the near future, but also a section of their UK operations.   

In addition, Richard stated on his website today that he's looking for area opportunities for his of Virgin affiliate companies to get involved in the area. Well isn't this an interesting turn of events! Richard Branson, the eccentric English businessman, entrepreneur and founder of Virgin Group, is laying claim that Reuben S. Branson, the founder of our local community, is a member of Richard Branson's family tree. 

Back in 1882, Reuben S. Branson opened a post office and general store in Southwest Missouri. Upon submitting paper work to the U.S. Post Office, Reuben listed the community name as "Branson" and that's been the name of our town ever since.
